Holiday Cheer, 10 Weeks Until Christmas is Here!

The holiday season can be an expensive time of year, especially since we are coming off vacation season and getting our kids ready for school.  We still have Count Your Buttons Day, National Mincement Day, Halloween in October.  November brings with it, National Election Day, Homemade Bread Day, Clean Your Refrigerator Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday and ends the month with Stay At Home Because You are Well Day.  This brings us to December; it is full of special days like, National Roof Over Your Head Day, Pearl Harbor Day, Hanukkah, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and pretty much chocolate anything with two dedicated days to chocolate.  All this is followed by the end of the year taxes and if you are trying to buy or sell a home during this hectic time of year your finances may feel like they are being stretched pretty thin. With all the potential “dough” going out the door during the Holiday Season I am sharing my favorite dough recipe this week.

This recipe can be made into rolls, loaf bread, sweet breads, savory breads and fry breads.  You will just need to adjust the amount of flour and/or sugar for what you plan to make.
Never Fail Dough
2 ¾ cup Milk
½ cup Real Butter
Microwave these two ingredients on high for 5 minutes.

In mixing bowl combine the following ingredients
6 cups Flour
½ cup Sugar
2 Tbsp Yeast
2 tsp Salt
3 eggs
Up to 2 more cups of flour

Turn mixer on, and while mixing pour hot milk and butter into mixing bowl.  Leave mixer running for about 10 minutes.  Let raise mix or beat down.  Form and let raise a second time.
Bake 400 degrees for 10 minutes
Recipe makes about 40 rolls.

Happy Baking!
